The Habitat · Penang Hill
At the top of Penang Hill, after riding up one of the longest funicular trains in Asia, I entered The Habitat. Minutes after entering the paved trail, I was greeted by colorful birds, playful monkeys, and beautiful flowers. I then journeyed across a huge metal suspension bridge (the longest double span stressed ribbon bridge in the world), where I was eye-level with tropical birds and the iconic (and admittedly loud) cicadas. Near the end of my hike, I reached the highest peak in Penang and climbed up a couple flights of stairs to get to the tree top walk. Meandering across the towering metal platform, I was mesmerized by breathtaking views of Pilau Pinang (the island portion of Penang).
